Healing Is Messy, Spiritual, and Occasionally Petty — And I’m Okay With That
Healing is funny. Not “ha‑ha,” “lol” funny — more like “I thought I was healed until someone breathed wrong near me or stepped on an unhealed mental landmine” funny. Growth has a way of humbling you and reminding you that you’re still under construction, even on the days you swear you’re finished.
As an Aquarius woman with a true servant’s heart, I’ve always seen potential in everybody. I want to help, fix, uplift, and make life easier for folks who didn’t even ask. I am so solution‑driven that I’ve sometimes been considered a rebel without a cause — geared to fight the good fight even without permission.
That’s cute… until it becomes exhausting. This season of choosing myself has come with boundaries I didn’t even know I was allowed to have.
And yes — some people have been confused. Some have been offended. Some are even waiting for the “old me” to return.
Sorry Bud — no more human doormat here, and definitely no Captain‑Save‑a‑Heaux either.
I’ve even gone tone‑deaf to the fire alarms of other people’s chaos — the same alarms I used to sprint toward without blinking.
Spoiler alert: she’s not coming back. The woman who spent years pouring from an empty cup hasn’t even considered leaving a forwarding address.
Therapy has me sitting in my truth like it’s a folding chair at a family reunion — uncomfortable, necessary, and revealing way more than I asked for.
Accountability is not cute, but it’s freeing.
Choosing abstinence during some of the most difficult seasons of my life wasn’t about perfection. It was about clarity. And before anyone’s imagination runs wild, I’m not talking about anything steamy or dramatic. I’m talking about spiritual quiet.
I needed my spirit settled, my intuition sharp, and my boundaries unblurred on every front.
Stepping back from intimacy of any kind, gave me space to hear God, trust myself, and stop confusing chemistry with connection. Abstinence became a spiritual reset; one that made my discernment sharper than a fresh manicure. Pretty, polished, and not to be played with.
And here’s the part my Aquarius nature refuses to ignore:
I’ve always carried emotional water for people.
I see potential in everybody — even when they’ve shown me the actual reality. Aquarius energy will have you believing you can heal the world with a hug, a prayer, and a well‑timed boundary. But healing taught me something important- Potential is not responsibility.
I’ve realized a lot of people are at war with themselves. I’m no longer joining anybody’s battle unless it’s mine. Peace is expensive, and I’m not giving out coupons.
Every day I thank God for the blessings I used to overlook — breath, clarity, second chances, and the ability to walk away from chaos without needing to announce it.
Growth is quiet. Gratitude is loud.
As I heal, I find myself praying more. I pray for my journey of what was, what is and what is yet to come. I pray for women who have and are walking a similar path as me. I pray for our men as well — the fathers, sons, brothers, and partners who carry their own quiet battles. They need gentleness, understanding, and room to breathe without judgment. Healing isn’t a solo mission for women; it’s a shared responsibility woven through our families and communities.
So here’s what healing taught me:
Boundaries are not rude — they’re sacred.
Clarity is a gift you give yourself.
Gratitude will change your life faster than revenge fantasies.
Becoming is a lifelong process, not a one‑time event.
And peace? Peace is the prize.
Here’s to the version of me — and you — that finally understands healing doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. Becoming means embracing the good, the bad, and all the beautifully chaotic pieces in between. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s spiritual. And sometimes… it’s just a little petty.
And honestly? I’m okay with that.
If this reflection speaks to you, stay connected. More truth, more healing, and more becoming are on the way.
